MatchNP Founder and CEO Cecilia Ravas, MSN, AGPCNP-C, grew up inspired by healthcare, with a mother who worked as a labor and delivery nurse. As she pursued her own path to becoming a nurse practitioner, she quickly encountered one of the biggest challenges students face: finding preceptors.
Despite being enrolled in a program affiliated with her workplace, she was still responsible for sourcing her own clinical rotations. Countless calls, emails, and in-person visits made the process overwhelming and uncertain. Ultimately, the inability to secure certain specialty rotations impacted her career path.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the problem intensified. Students across the country were unable to complete clinical hours as sites shut their doors. Many delayed graduation or left their programs entirely.
That moment made one thing clear: without a better NP clinical placement system, the growing provider shortage would only worsen. MatchNP was built to solve that problem.
